Designed and implemented a soil characterization
plan to identify chemical contaminants in
soil to be excavated and removed as part of
project. Identified disposal facilities certified to
take excavated soils, determined by the soil
characterization profile. Prepared necessary
waste profile documentation required for disposal.
Obtained bids for soil transport and disposal.
Coordinated contractor/city contract development.
Field screened soil for volatile organic
compounds and directed trucks to appropriate
disposal sites during soil excavation activities.
Prepared and coordinated the signing of waste
manifests. Responsible for monitoring work area
for exposure to dusts which could contain lead
during certain excavation activities. Prepared
written report for city documenting EH&S activities
associated with soil excavation and disposal
activities. Provided EH&S consultation to utility
companies and a general contractor on behalf
of the city.

Environmental Services Associated with a
Railway Grade Separation Construction
Project
San Carlos and Belmont, CA
Provided environmental consultation for proper
characterization and handling of abandoned
gasoline, waste oil, and bunker oil tanks present
on the project site. Managed tank and soil excavation
activities with oversight and approval of the
San Mateo County Department of Environmental
Health. Managed onsite stabilization and reuse
of soil found to contain elevated concentrations
of lead, with oversight and approval of the DTSC. |
